Mr. Richard S. Sokolov is Vice Chairman of the Board of Simon Property Group, Inc., effective February 15, 2019. Mr. Sokolov Vice Chairman of the Company since February 2019 and a director of the Company or its predecessor since 1996. President and Chief Operating Officer of the Company or its predecessor from 1996 to February 2019. President and Chief Executive Officer of DeBartolo Realty Corporation from its incorporation in 1994 until it merged with our predecessors in 1996. Mr. Sokolov joined its predecessor, The Edward J. DeBartolo Corporationrationration, in 1982 as Vice President and General Counsel and was named Senior Vice President, Development and General Counsel in 1986. In the past five years, he previously served as a director of Washington Prime Group. Mr. Sokolov has served as our Vice Chairman since February 2019 and a director of the Company or its predecessor since 1996. He served as President and Chief Operating Officer of the Company or its predecessor from 1996, immediately following our acquisition of DeBartolo Realty Corporationrationration, to February 2019. Mr. Sokolov had served as Chief Executive Officer and President of DeBartolo Realty Corporation and Senior Vice President Development and General Counsel of its predecessor operations for a number of years. Mr. Sokolov is a past Chairman of the International Council of Shopping Centers and previously served as a trustee and a member of the ICSC Nominating Committee. since 2019.
