He was the Chairman of the Board of Directors of The Schwan Food Company, a provider of fine frozen foods, since January 2009. He was previously Chairman of the Board from January 2000 to May 2006, President and Chief Executive Officer from March 1995 to July 2004, and President and Chief Operating Officer from August 1992 to March 1995 of Ecolab, Inc, a global provider of premium cleaning, sanitation and maintenance products and services. He was named Chairman Emeritus of Ecolab in 2006. Mr. Schuman is the Chairman of the Board of Florida Atlantic University College of Business and is a member of the board of directors of the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation. As Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Ecolab, Mr. Schuman has firsthand experience in managing a large, multinational corporation focused on worldwide consumer markets, with ultimate management responsibility for the corporations financial performance and the deployment of its capital. since 2004.
