He is the President and Chief Executive Officer of PLDT Inc., and Smart Communications, Inc. and continues to serve as their Chairman concurrently. He is also Chairman of listed companies including Metro Pacific Investments Corporation and Philex Mining Corporationrationration, and of nonlisted companies including Beacon Electric Asset Holdings Inc., PLDT Communications and Energy Ventures Inc., Landco Pacific Corporationrationration, Medical Doctors, Inc., Colinas Verdes Corporationrationration, Davao Doctors Inc., Riverside Medical Center, Inc., Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Asian Hospital, Inc., Maynilad Water Services, Inc., Mediaquest, Inc., TV5 Network Inc., Manila North Tollways Corporationrationration, and MERALCO PowerGen Corporationrationration. Mr. Pangilinan graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics, cum laude from the Ateneo de Manila University and a Masters in Business Administration from Wharton School of Finance and Commerce, University of Pennsylvania, where he was a Procter Gamble Fellow. since 2012.

Manila Electric Leadership Team
Elected by the shareholders, the Manila Electric's board of directors comprises two types of representatives: Manila Electric inside directors who are chosen from within the company, and outside directors, selected externally and held independent of Manila. The board's role is to monitor Manila Electric's management team and ensure that shareholders' interests are well served.
