From 1988 until 1989 he served at the Chinese University of Hong Kong as Lecturer in Finance. Between 1973 and 1988 he held managerial positions at Sun Hung Kai Group including Chief Administration Financial Officer. He also served at IBM World Trade Corporation and the Hong Kong Government . He is Independent Nonexecutive Director, Chairman of the Nomination Committee as well as member of the Audit Committee and of the Remuneration Committee, at China Mobile Limited and Independent Nonexecutive Director and member of the Remuneration Committee at CITIC Limited. He graduated from The University of Hong Kong with BS in Mechanical Engineering, diploma in Management Studies, an MBA degree . He also holds a diploma in Finance from Chinese University of Hong Kong and is a Doctor of Social Science from The Open University of Hong Kong . since 2015.
