In 1998, Mr. Thiel cofounded PayPal, Inc., an online payment company, where he served as Chief Executive Officer, President, and Chairman of its board of directors from 2000 until its acquisition by eBay in 2002. Mr. Thiel holds a B.A. in philosophy from Stanford University and a J.D. from Stanford Law School. We believe that Mr. Thiel should serve as a member of our board of directors due to his extensive leadership and business experience as an entrepreneur and VCist, as well as his role as one of our early investors and longestserving directors. Mr. Thiel also has experience with technology and product innovation, and service on other boards of directors. since 2005.
