He was President of Ackerman Management LLC since April 2002, a private investment management and advisory company with particular focus on real estate and other assetbased investments. Ed was a founder and served as the President of Wellsford Real Properties, Inc. from 1997 until 2002, which owned and operated multifamily apartments throughout the United States. Ed currently serves as a director of Omega Healthcare Investors, Inc., a healthcare REIT, and served as a director of Desarrolladora Homex, S.A. de C.V., a Mexicanbased home builder, from 2004 to 2013. Ed serves as nonexecutive Chairman of Tiburon Lockers, Inc., a privatelyheld owner and operator of rental locker systems, and as a trustee of The Manhattan School of Music. He received a B.A. degree from Case Western Reserve University and a J.D. degree from Georgetown University Law Center, where he was an editor of the Georgetown University Law Journal. since 2015.

American Campus Comm Leadership Team
Elected by the shareholders, the American Campus' board of directors comprises two types of representatives: American Campus inside directors who are chosen from within the company, and outside directors, selected externally and held independent of American.
